AppleGreen Service Center – Whitney Houston (Formerly known as Vauxhall)
LOCATION: NEW JERSEY PARKWAY
Netta Architects, a leader in innovative commercial architecture, has received the Silver Medal Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for their work on the AppleGreen Service Center (formerly known as Vauxhall), now renamed the Whitney Houston Service Area. This 11,000 sq. ft. project is part of an ambitious collaboration with Upland Architects to develop AppleGreen retail locations along the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway.
Netta Architects was hired to lead the design from concept to completion, ensuring that the service center not only met the high standards of modern retail design but also catered to the specific needs of its national food partners. The facility is tailored to serve as a welcoming, high-traffic retail hub, delivering a seamless customer experience while maintaining sustainability and compliance with state regulations.
As part of their broader involvement, Netta Architects crafted a prototype design that serves as a template for future AppleGreen retail locations across New Jersey. The award-winning service center integrates cutting-edge architectural elements and strategic site planning to enhance customer flow and operational efficiency. This approach allowed for a unique balance of aesthetics and functionality, ensuring a consistent, high-quality customer experience.
Partnership and Expansion This project is a testament to the collaborative effort between Netta Architects and Upland Architects, blending each firm’s expertise to bring a new standard of service center design to New Jersey. As the initiative expands, the prototype will guide the development of similar retail facilities throughout the state’s busiest transportation routes, solidifying Netta Architects’ role as a pivotal force in the ongoing modernization of public infrastructure.
Netta Architects’ ability to deliver comprehensive, from-concept-to-completion services, while adhering to the operational needs of its food and retail partners, positions the firm at the forefront of commercial architectural design in New Jersey.
