Linden Fire Station No. 2

With the success of Fire Stations No. 1 and No. 3, Netta Architects was engaged to design Fire Station No. 2.  This new facility required demolition of existing, relocation and new construction of a combined Fire and EMS facility for the City of Linden funded through the Union County Improvement Authority.  Sited on a prominent visible corner in Linden, the program resulted in the design of a new 15,500 SF building comprised of the following components: 3 double apparatus drive thru bays housing 4 fire apparatus, ambulance and Command Vehicles. The facility was designed as a steel structure with masonry veneer to blend with the residential neighborhood vernacular.  Station No. 2 received numerous design awards for its unique resolution of compartmentalization of the fire house.
