Fulop Leads Groundbreaking on Jersey City’s First New Firehouse in 20 Years

The new $5.6 million station in the growing Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood will be the first new fire house built in 20 years and will replace the 116-year-old fire house on Hallaway Street. Currently a vacant lot, the new firehouse, set to be located at Grand and Bishop Streets ,will boast green construction and a LEED Silver Certified structure designed with dual bays to accommodate three full-sized apparatuses, advanced decontamination and hose extraction equipment, turnout gear, and housing for firefighters.
