AppleGreen – Connie Chung Service Center

Garden State Parkway Bloomfield, NJ

A New Standard for Roadside Retail

Netta Architects designed a 7,500-square-foot prototype for the Applegreen Connie Chung Service Area on the Garden State Parkway. Working alongside Upland Architects, Netta provided architectural services from concept through completion. The prototype established a flexible design approach for Applegreen travel plazas along the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway.

The traveler-focused concept combines Applegreen convenience retail with nationally recognized food and beverage brands. At the Connie Chung Service Area, the tenant mix includes Burger King, Chick-fil-A, Starbucks, and the Applegreen convenience store. Netta coordinated each brand’s equipment, food-service, circulation, signage, and back-of-house requirements within one consistent architectural concept.

Designed for high-volume highway operations, the facility supports efficient customer circulation, fast service, durable materials, and clear connections between retail and dining areas. The adaptable prototype can also accommodate additional national food and retail partners at other Applegreen service-area locations.
